Admission Profiles for the Master’s in Advanced Mathematics

For the Master’s in Advanced Mathematics, the following admission profiles are considered:

  • Recommended admission profile: Candidates with a university degree in the field of Mathematics and Statistics, Physics and Astronomy, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science or a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics and Computing, or equivalent degrees. These candidates will not be required to take additional preparatory courses.
  • Other admission profiles: Candidates with university degrees that include at least 33 ECTS credits in subjects covering Calculus, Algebra, Statistics, Differential Equations, and Numerical Methods. For these candidates, it is also required to complete an additional 12 ECTS credits of supplementary training from among the following GeM courses: Ordinary Differential Equations II, Partial Differential Equations, Advanced Differential Equations, Numerical Calculus II, Numerical Methods in Partial Differential Equations, Multivariate Statistics, Modeling of Stochastic Phenomena, and Introduction to Data Science (see the course descriptions in the verification report for that degree). The specific courses to be taken will be determined by the Master’s Academic Committee.

Candidate Selection

The Master’s Academic Committee will review the documentation of applicants who meet the admission requirements and decide on their admission. Each candidate will be evaluated on a scale from 0 to 100 points according to the following criteria:

  • Entry qualification (up to 30 points).
  • Academic record (up to 50 points).
  • Motivation letter (up to 10 points).
  • Other academic merits (up to 10 points).

In some cases, the Committee may conduct personal interviews to further assess the applications.
