It is also suitable for people interested in deepening their knowledge in a specific field with professional opportunities in public or private R&D departments.\n <\/p>\n\n <p><strong>\u2014 What training does it offer and what skills will I gain?<\/strong><br \/>\n The programme provides a solid foundation in advanced mathematics, both fundamental and applied. Students develop skills related to rigorous mathematical thinking, modelling real-world phenomena, analysing and solving complex problems, and the scientific treatment of data. Teamwork and communication skills are also fostered, which are essential in research environments.\n <\/p>\n\n <p><strong>\u2014 How long is the programme and how is it structured?<\/strong><br \/>\n It consists of <strong>60 ECTS credits<\/strong> and is designed to be completed in one academic year. It is especially oriented towards those who wish to later access a PhD programme in Mathematics or pursue academic research. It is also suitable for people interested in deepening their knowledge in a specific field with professional opportunities in public or private R&D departments.\n <\/p>\n\n <p><strong>\u2014 What training does it offer and what skills will I gain?<\/strong><br \/>\n The programme provides a solid foundation in advanced mathematics, both fundamental and applied. Students develop skills related to rigorous mathematical thinking, modelling real-world phenomena, analysing and solving complex problems, and the scientific treatment of data. Teamwork and communication skills are also fostered, which are essential in research environments.\n <\/p>\n\n <p><strong>\u2014 How long is the programme and how is it structured?<\/strong><br \/>\n It consists of <strong>60 ECTS credits<\/strong> and is designed to be completed in one academic year. It includes a <strong>Master\u2019s Thesis<\/strong> worth <strong>18 credits<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/matematicas.epes.upm.es\/master\/propuestas-de-tfm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">See Master\u2019s thesis proposals<\/a>). The remaining <strong>42 credits<\/strong> are completed through courses, and you may focus on <strong><span class=\"itinerario-fundamental\">Fundamental Mathematics<\/span><\/strong> or <strong><span class=\"itinerario-aplicada\">Applied Mathematics<\/span><\/strong>, or combine both.\n <\/p>\n\n <p><strong>\u2014 Are there external internships and mobility programmes?<\/strong><br \/>\n Yes. External academic internships can be carried out in research centres or R&D departments thanks to UPM agreements. In addition, there are partnerships with international universities that allow students to undertake mobility stays abroad.\n <\/p>\n\n <p><strong>\u2014 What career paths does it offer?<\/strong><br \/>\n The main pathway is access to a PhD in Mathematics. The Master\u2019s Academic Committee will decide on your application and will suggest which courses you should take as complementary training.
